Philosophy

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

-- Proverbs 9:10

Our philosophy is taken from Biblical principles. Thus we have an environment for learning bounded in discipline; peace; and mandated respect for family, teachers, fellow-students, and self. Likewise, we expect respect for the person and properties of others.

[Jesus] said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

-- Luke 10:27

We believe and teach that genuine humility is essential to learning, and that pride and arrogance disrupt learning.

When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.

-- Proverbs 11:2

We believe that wisdom is the skillful application of knowledge to life, and that skillful application requires practice. Thus wisdom requires the gaining of knowledge followed by ample practice.

The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.

-- Philippians 4:9

We seek to develop in ourselves and in our students the following:

wisdom,

For wisdom is better than jewels; And all desirable things can not compare with her.

-- Proverbs 8:11
integrity,

He who walks in integrity walks securely...

-- Proverbs 10:9A
strength,

A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power.

-- Proverbs 24:5

She girds herself with strength, and makes her arms strong.

-- Proverbs 31:17
and endurance.

... and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

-- Hebrews 12:1B
